Little House on the Prairie: Walnut Grove's Church faces a dilemma when they want to invite African American community member Joe Kagen to Sunday services, but Harriet Oleson fiercely refuses to let that happen (and manipulates her husband to stand behind her). Unfortunately, Mary and Adam's blind school in Winoka has problems of its own when the property is sold to the infamous Mr. Standish. Mary writes to her parents for help in finding a new place, and it appears that the late Lars Hanson's big, beautiful house in Walnut Grove may be the perfect place for everyone to transfer. Arrangements are made for a blind school in St. Louis to double up with Mary, Adam, and their students at the new school, so Charles and Joe Kagen head out in their wagons to lead the whole group to their new home in Walnut Grove. Harriet shocks them all by inviting herself along, but with a brand-new dress and an expensive wig adorning her head, there's only one thing this shallow woman is after.
