Sherlock Holmes: Watson learns from Holmes that he (Holmes) has an elder brother, Mycroft, a man of singular gifts. Mycroft has been approached by a Greek Interpreter, Mr. Melas, who was abducted one evening and taken in a sealed coach to an unknown location. At this location he was confronted by a man known as Paul Kratides, who had been tortured. Melas was ordered to act as interpreter for this man who was refusing to sign a document of some kind for two other men. Mr. Melas was returned safely home but being concerned about the mysterious man's fate has consulted Mycroft Holmes who calls his brother Sherlock in on the case.
