Time Team: Sixty years ago, on the 23rd of May 1940, a 24 year old Englishman, Paul Klipsch climbed into his spitfire and flew across the channel. It was the first time that his squadron had gone to war and it was Klipsch�s first day of combat. It was also to be his last. The combat report simply said �killed in action�. We know where his plane went down in Northern France, but we don�t exactly know how or why it crashed. Time Team, have got just three days to uncover the wreck of one of the earliest spitfires of world war two and to tell the story of it�s pilot, Paul Klipsch.
